Everything you love about our proven Ultralight Compact Grip (ULCG), turned up to 11.
The low drag, compact profile maintains the same width, front-strap + back-strap geometry, and forward anti slip ledge of the original ULCG, but now features increased surface area and an optimized contact patch for the lower rear of your palm, increasing leverage and improving long term operating comfort.
The geometry change on the bottom also allowed for a fresh take on our integrated storage system. The included floorplate is now far easier to utilize, especially with gloves, all without sacrificing any security.
The final external optimizations come by way of the two texture options, originally designed for our Shadow Crossover Grip:
- Apex texture – minimally abrasive, Apex was designed for those who like hockey tape wraps or similarly smooth but still tactile finishes
- Atom (dot) texture – more bite, more traction, perfect for gloved hands or more demanding conditions (humidity, sweat, mud, etc.)
Internal improvements include an updated mounting interface for broader platform compatibility and reinforced walls to increase rigidity and durability through impact, with consideration of the new profile and accompanying likely impact points.
Through all of these changes, the weight is closer to our standard grips, sitting at 2.05 oz with hardware (less than 10% increase in weight over the first generation).
The ULCG Gen 2 is made in the USA: Additively Manufactured by MK Machining on their MJF 5210’s, from a durable Nylon PA11 material. Each unit includes mounting hardware and is supported with our lifetime warranty.

Bought this to go with a 300Blk out build, fde cerakote, turned out great like the other grips from Driven! Magpul, kung fu, and reptilia dont match the quality and feel of these grips. Sticking to this company until they stop.

I love the way it looks, love the feel. Overall, very pleased. The ONLY negative for me (this I my opinion). I wish it was a full size grip. Don’t change anything else. Just to a full size. That would’ve been absolute perfect grip for me

Just got it in today and installed, this grip is for the wife’s AR. She is a pretty simple matter-of-fact person with 3 typical reactions to new parts:
1. Nope.
2. This will work, I can use this.
3. Hey I like it!
Until today I had not gotten reaction #3 to a rifle grip in the 16 years we’ve been together. She loves it, fits her size small hand like a glove. Hopefully can get out to the range this week and try it out.
Now she wants same size in an AK grip, I knew this would happen, now you have to make it.

Had been running Reptilia cqb grips on a couple builds and while I like their price point, they suffer from a lack of texture. I stippled one myself which helped. Bought this in the Apex pattern to try in place of the other I hadn’t yet stippled and it is perfect. Highly recommend!

After getting the VCG, I had to check out the ULCG Gen 2 as soon as it released. The ergonomics are perfect as expected, and it looks great on my PCC. I went with Apex version over the Atom because of the unique pattern, and there’s just enough texture to help maintain control without aggressively digging into your hands. My favorite purchase from DAC so far.
